Heart-Warming Facts About Public and Private Elementary Schools in Brooklyn

Four years ago, when a school opened in one of the neighborhoods in Brooklyn after two schools had failed in their endeavor to provide quality education, everyone expected the school to suffer from the same fate as the other two schools.

Most students of this school were from troubled families and hence had emotional issues which had to be addressed. Some of the students even had frenzied outbursts, throwing chairs and getting into frequent fistfights with their classmates.

Obviously something had to be done about it and it had to be done soon.

Like most public and private elementary schools in Brooklyn, which are dedicated to the cause of effectuating a wholesome development in the students, this school too was no exception.

After being set-up, the faculty and the associated social workers got into full-on action mode by structuring multiple programs and provisions to cater to the emotional and physical needs of the students.

It was indeed very challenging for the school to achieve what it did through its consistent efforts to uplift the condition of its students while taking care of other crucial aspects like implementation of the Common Core standards.

The social workers worked tirelessly- from conducting one-on-one literacy sessions with those students who needed extra help with academics to providing emotional counselling and therapy for the students who had emotional issues which manifested as violent outbursts and for those suffering from Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and dyslexia.

The services even extended to the family members of the students as the cause of all issues had to be eliminated from its roots- parents were counselled too to help them in their daily struggles.
School absenteeism, learning disabilities and emotional trouble in young students, which were previously rampant, had a gradual downfall due to the noble efforts of the public and private elementary schools in Brooklyn.
